United Way of the National Capital Area

United Way of the National Capital Area (UWNCA) manages one of the largest annual workplace fundraising campaigns in the country. Our community support system includes over 730 member charities with access to hundreds of work sites and tens of thousands of donors and volunteers. Our three major focus areas are health, financial stability, and education. With education, the goal is to increase on-time high school graduation rates and help students transition to post-secondary schooling and training. UWNCA is a key stakeholder in the Raise DC cradle-to-career initiative that aligns the work of schools, nonprofit service providers, and government agencies to keep kids on track for graduation. United Way has also launched the Million Readers, Tutors, and Mentors Challenge, with many volunteer opportunities in the DC area.
